GPAC Meeting #2: August 28, 2019

On August 28, 2019, the City held its second GPAC meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to provide a summary of the community outreach conducted so far as well as report what community input we have received from both the pop-up booths and online engagement. Also, as part of this meeting the GPAC began crafting a General Plan Vision for the City in 2040. Several concepts that the GPAC expressed that should be part of the Vision Statement included a focus on connectedness in the community, sustainability and being environmentally proactive, economic diversity, encouraging housing types for all ages and incomes, enhancement of education, and improving the overall quality of life.

This is the second in a series of GPAC Meetings where the GPAC will make General Plan recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council regarding the Vision, Guiding Principles, Alternatives, and Policy Development based on community feedback and input. The next step for the GPAC is to convene in September to finalize the discussion on a General Plan Vision Statement and make a recommendation to Planning Commission and City Council, discuss General Plan Guiding Principles, and review the Existing Conditions and Trends Workbook.
